Skip the first two levels  ⌨️🦖

Don't aim to master the first two levels but the third one

After you vaguely remembered where each key is and how to move each finger using the first two levels (basic characters and all characters) try to start typing entire words by moving to the third one: basic words.

This will make the typing practice both less daunting and more efficient as it is easier for us to work with already known patterns than just random letters. Those first two levels are there just so you can break the habit of typing as you normally do and start the new way of using the keyboard.

How I learned

The software I used to learn forced me to type endless pages of just J and F characters only to introduce a single new character. That was so tedious that I stopped the practice multiple times.

Only after I discovered a game which trained with short words like: up, is, he, the; I begun to make progress.

You will type slow

I bet that after some time on the first level you started to type those single home row characters quite fast. It's not gonna be like that with the words. You will probably have to look down on the keyboard quite often and you will mix up your fingers a lot.

That's normal. Take it slow. Lear it word by word. The ttyping intentionally does not measure typing speed - it only counts your errors. Type as slow as you have to to make as little of those as possible. And if you can't remember where a given key is or which finger to use just pause for a second before looking down and try to remember by yourself.

When to move on

Try out the next level when you are typing the current one with around 90% accuracy. And you can be sure you're mastered the level when you are typing with around 98% accuracy or more.

Rmember:

The slower you will practice the faster your fingers will learn.
But each time you look down on your keyboard your fingers forget.

So eyes up, hands down, and go back to typing...
